How to Make a Risotto: Simple, Creamy and Delicious!
Risotto is a traditional Italian dish consisting of rice, broth and several other ingredients.
It is a very popular dish that can be prepared with a wide variety of ingredients to suit all tastes.
Here’s how to make risotto, which can be served as a main course or side dish.
- 500 g arborio or carnaroli rice
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 12 cl of dry white wine
- 1.75 liters chicken or vegetable broth
First mince the onion – as you can use a leek or 2 onions – mince the garlic clove.
Then brown it in a pot with oil over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, while stirring with a wooden spoon.
Be careful the onions should be just soft and not brown, then add the rice and garlic, stirring for 30 to 45 seconds.
Pour in white wine and bring everything to a boil, stirring constantly.
Meanwhile, heat broth in a saucepan over medium heat.
Once the rice has absorbed the wine, add 12 cl of broth or just a ladle of broth and stir again over medium heat.
Add again, stirring, each time the rice absorbs the broth and always in 12 cl batches for a total cooking time of 20 to 25 minutes.
At the end of cooking, season with salt and pepper and serve, everyone has a good appetite.
