Orange and Poppy Seed Cake, a delicious soft cake for your breakfast, here is an easy recipe for at home and for the whole family.


– 500 grams flour
– 80 grams poppy seeds
– 3 tbsp finely grated orange peel
– 2 eggs
– 12 cl milk
– 200 grams of sugar
– 12 cl oil
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 2 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 tsp salt


First preheat your oven to 180°, grease a cake tin with butter and flour, in a large bowl combine flour with baking powder and salt.
Then in a large steel bowl with your mixer, beat the eggs with the sugar and milk until your mixture swells.
Then pour the vanilla extract over the top along with the 2 Tbsp orange zest and the oil in a thin stream while whisking through the mixer.
Then add the flour mixture and mix everything with a spoon, then add the poppy seeds and keep mixing.
Pour your batter into the mold and put it in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
To check that it is cooked properly, insert the tip of a knife into the cake, it should come out clean, otherwise prolong the cooking.
Leave to cool for a moment, then unmold your cake and sprinkle 1 tsp orange zest over it.
