This jam is perfect for breakfast or as a dessert topping.
It is made with fresh pears and a touch of vanilla to taste.
1 kg pears
2 vanilla pods
500 grams sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
Firstly peel the pears, core and cut them into cubes, cut the vanilla pods in half lengthwise and collect the seeds.
Then put the pears in a saucepan, add sugar, lemon juice, vanilla pods and seeds.
Then cook over medium heat for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until your jam thickens.
Finally remove the vanilla pods and fill the sterilized jars, seal, turn them upside down and leave to cool.
