Apricots Poached in Sugar Syrup: A Must-Try Dessert
When the weather turns warm, there’s no better way to cool off than with a fresh, sweet dessert. And what could be better than apricots cooked in syrup? This delicious dessert is a perfect combination of tangy apricots, aromatic spices and sweet syrup. Whether you’re looking for a light dessert to end your meal or a summer treat to satisfy your sweet tooth, poached apricots are a great option.
1 kg apricots
200 g sugar
24 cl water
1 cinnamon stick
2 star anise
24 cl cold liquid cream.
Preparation of poached apricots in sugar syrup:
First wash the apricots well, cut them in half and remove the pits.
Then pour water into a saucepan, add sugar and bring to a boil.
Keep on a low heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar if necessary, then add the cinnamon, star anise and apricots, mixing with a spatula.
Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes, then take your pan off the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
This resting time allows your apricots to absorb more of the syrup and then drain them and set them aside.
Meanwhile, take your cream out of the fridge, pour it into a bowl and beat it with a mixer.
Place your apricots on a plate, then top each with 1 tablespoon whipped cream topped with a mint leaf.
Finally sprinkle your remaining sugar syrup on them, serve your dessert and good appetite to all.
